Job summary

Food Lion in Garden City, SC is hiring for a Perishable Department team member. You will provide quality customer service, maintain department standards, and help minimize shrink while maximizing sales through proper product handling and safety practices.

Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, stocking meat, dairy, and other perishables, using store tools like ACIS and CAO, and following Food Lion policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide enthusiastic customer service to create a positive shopping experience in the Perishable Department.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO for inventory and ordering.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store properly.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise meet policies and guidelines.
• Maintain proper product levels in meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, and ice cream areas.
• Process beef and grinds as directed by production plans and requests.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat cases as needed.
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean grinders as required.
• Keep the department clean and sanitized.
• Maintain layout standards and use promotional materials appropriately.
• Follow company guidelines and safety procedures.
