Job summary

Mercy South Operating Room in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team by supplying instruments and coordinating patient care. You will participate in all surgical cases, maintain instrument accountability, and uphold Mercy Service Standards.

Education and certification requirements include High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and preferred Surgical Technology credential. Non-licensed or current techs may be considered depending on location and experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED required; you may be asked to provide proof of education.
• Licensure: Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered.
• Experience: Non-24-Hour locations may consider non-certified candidates; 24-Hour locations may consider non-experienced perioperative candidates.
• Certifications: American Heart Association BLS required.
• English: Must understand English both written and spoken.
• Preferred Education: Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• Preferred Licensure/Certification: Surgical Technology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical instruments to the team and maintain instrument accountability.
• Coordinate care of the surgical patient with the surgical team.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy mission and standards.
