Job summary

Southern NH Medical Center is seeking a Perioperative Support Services Technician for the Operating Room on a per diem basis. The role supports surgical teams by identifying instrumentation, assisting intra-operative activities, and ensuring efficient room turnover.

Flexible hours include 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts with a dedicated call schedule. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, verifying instrument lists, inspecting devices with the equipment technologist, and anticipating needs

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of equipment and instrumentation.
• Frequent use of fine motor and sensory skills.
• Ability to achieve the following competencies Within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Identify and collect sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team with intra-operative procedures.
• Assist the surgical team with room turnover.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations in a calm manner.
• Monitor for expired, damaged, or nonfunctioning products or equipment.
• Use surgical preference cards to verify and/or select instrumentation and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with the equipment Technologist to inspect equipment for safety and function and reports defects.
• Anticipate equipment needs for surgical procedures.
• Assist with room set up.
