Responsibilities

• Assist with patient and staff movement and turnover to improve efficiency.

About The Job

Function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient‑care related duties in the assigned area of surgical services.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient and effective perioperative processes. Gather supplies and instruments needed for patient procedures.
• Maintain anesthesia machine and cart by checking for all necessary equipment and supplies prior to start of case, cleaning after each case and restocking according to established par levels.
• Uphold an environment which consistently meets all safety, infection control and quality standards.
• Support anesthesia and operating room personnel to ensure the cleanliness of equipment and support patient safety.
• Function as an integral member of the operating room team and contribute to maintaining a professional, respectful, and effective patient‑care and work environment.
• Promote continuity in surgery turnover time.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient operating room suite.
• Transport specimens, equipment, and supplies between a variety of departments and patient‑care areas as needed.
• Ensure a professional, respectful, and effective patient‑care and working environment through consistent use of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical technician certification from the State of New Hampshire required, unless another current NH state license is held. BLS required.
