Job summary

UPMC is seeking a full-time Perioperative Coordinator of Supply Chain Ops to support UPMC West Shore. The role maintains inventory accuracy and ensures timely procurement for surgical cases in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position works daylight hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with weekends off. Strong Excel and inventory management skills are essential, along with collaboration with clinical staff to meet service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital supply chain operations.
• Ability to monitor inventory levels and par levels.
• Familiarity with warehouse storage and labeling processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls walk-in inventory from vendor reps.
• Monitors consignment levels and ensures product availability for surgical cases.
• Develops and evaluates par levels to support service levels with minimal overstock.
• Identifies items to be ordered as warehouse stock or non-stock and assigns par locations.
• Performs cycle counts and analyzes inventory variances to resolve issues.
• Responds to emergent physician and clinical requests and looks for cost improvements.
• Inspects incoming shipments for accuracy and quality against PO quantities.
• Adjusts inventory to prevent excess and ensures end-users have necessary supplies.
• Controls inbound freight and courier costs in collaboration with on-site materials manager.
• Orders high-dollar surgical supplies and equipment.
