Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, IN is seeking a skilled Staff RN in Surgical Services to lead perioperative program development and support daily departmental operations.

Candidates should have strong perioperative experience, RN licensure in Indiana, and a track record of collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. CNOR and BSN are preferred; funding and education opportunities are available. This is an on-site position with full-time hours.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Specific Core Competencies:

  • serves as the departmental resource for assigned service lines by developing clinical workflows, coordinating equipment and supplies, supporting physician adoption of new technologies, developing policies and procedures, educating perioperative caregivers, and monitoring quality and operational outcomes.
  • functions as a Staff Registered Nurse within Surgical Services and may function in the scrub role, when appropriately trained, competent, and within scope of practice, to support daily departmental operations
  • provides strategic leadership for new procedural programs and collaborates across the entire perioperative continuum to ensure successful implementation, standardization, and long-term sustainability of service lines

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Line Development:

  • Lead the implementation, development, and growth of strategic procedural service lines.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary planning for new procedures, technologies, and clinical programs.
  • Develop standardized workflows and best practices.
  • Coordinate specialty equipment, instrumentation, disposables, and inventory.
  • Maintain physician preference cards and standardized procedural setups.
  • Coordinate vendor support during implementation and ongoing program development.
  • Assist with physician onboarding for newly implemented technologies.
  • Participate in capital equipment evaluations and implementation planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient care, and program growth.

Clinical Education & Service Line Integration

  • Serve as the clinical resource for all newly implemented technologies and service lines.
  • Coordinate education surrounding new equipment, instrumentation, disposables, and procedural workflows.
  • Develop educational materials, quick-reference guides, and workflow resources for new technologies.
  • Coordinate vendor-led education and ongoing equipment support.
  • Assist Operating Room caregivers in understanding new technology, equipment functionality, and procedural workflow changes.
  • Educate Same Day Surgery, PACU, Sterile Processing, Radiology, Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, and other ancillary departments on new service lines to ensure understanding of how each department's responsibilities impact patient care throughout the perioperative continuum.
  • Promote collaboration between perioperative departments to improve communication, patient throughput, and continuity of care.
  • Assist with implementation of new electronic documentation workflows related to new technologies.
  • Support leadership in validating competencies specific to newly implemented equipment and specialty procedures.

MANDATORY LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • CPR
  • ALCS
  • PALS
  • NRP

Certification/license: Registered Nurse (RN)

Additional licensure/credential requirements: CNOR Certification

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Required :

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Minimum five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience as a circulating Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum five (5) years of surgical scrub experience with demonstrated competency across multiple surgical specialties.
  • Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub roles.
  • Strong understanding of perioperative workflow, instrumentation, sterile technique, and surgical technology.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • CNOR certification.
  • Experience with robotic surgery, navigation systems, or other advanced procedural technologies.
  • Experience implementing new technologies or developing procedural service lines.
  • Experience with clinical education, competency validation, or workflow redesign.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or quality improvement experience.
