Job summary

Incredible Health seeks an Operating Room Nurse to deliver exceptional perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. You will prepare patients for procedures, assist surgeons intraoperatively, and monitor post-anesthesia recovery, ensuring safety and adherence to evidence-based protocols.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, educate patients and families, and maintain sterile technique and OR equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in perioperative nursing is required.
• Pre-operative assessment and consent verification experience is required.
• Intraoperative patient care and PACU recovery experience.
• Solid aseptic/sterile technique and instrument handling knowledge.
• Ability to monitor vitals and respond to changes in condition.
• Demonstrated HIPAA compliance and infection prevention practices.
• Strong patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Perform detailed pre-operative assessments, verify consents, review histories, and prepare patients for surgery.
• Function as circulating and/or scrub nurse, maintaining sterile technique and supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs intraoperatively, recognizing and responding to changes in condition.
• Maintain rigorous infection prevention and patient safety standards in accordance with facility and regulatory policies.
• Prepare and organize operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled and emergency cases.
• Accurately document all aspects of care and procedures in the electronic medical record and required logs.
• Conduct instrument, sponge, and sharp counts and manage specimens according to protocol.
• Coordinate smooth patient transfers between pre-op, OR, PACU, and inpatient units and support post-operative recovery and education.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve workflow, efficiency, and quality outcomes, leveraging technology and data where available.
