Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama seeks a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) to join the Perioperative Services team. You will clean and disinfect flexible scopes, support quality initiatives, and assist with reprocessing across areas as needed. After-hours call may be required.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma and CER/CFER certification; certification is preferred. A collaborative, patient-centered environment supports growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the overall process in the assigned department and work with quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide services to areas requiring reprocessing of flexible scopes.
• Properly clean and disinfect flexible scopes and related instrumentation.
• Takes after hour/weekend/holiday call as needed.
