Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN-OR) at Jamaica Plain VAMC in Boston, MA. This full-time role requires rotation for late case coverage and offers a comprehensive federal benefits package.

Qualifications

• The Perioperative Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for patient outcomes resulting from the nursing care for the patient undergoing a surgical/invasive procedure.
• The perioperative OR RN plans, directs and coordinates the care of every patient undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.
• Assumes responsibility for coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in both scrub and circulating roles within the OR and assist multiple surgical specialties as needed.
• Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to influence patient outcomes and ensure safety.
