Job summary

Mount Nittany Health in State College, PA, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in a surgical center setting. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care while collaborating with physicians, staff and families.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, has BLS/ACLS/PALS per the facility standards, and demonstrates teamwork, confidentiality, and ability to educate patients and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Meets American Heart Association standards for Healthcare Provider BLS (renewed every 2 years).
• After four months, meets ACLS standards and renews ACLS every 2 years.
• After six months, meets Healthcare Provider PALS and renews PALS every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and responds to the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs; acts as a patient advocate.
• Uses professional nursing skills to implement care and treat identified problems.
• Communicates patient assessments to the team to coordinate care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostics and IV therapy; documents orders and patient records accurately.
• Completes final review of patient records to ensure procedures are followed and staff are informed.
