Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited through American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications accredited through AHA (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).

Responsabilités

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in PreOp and PACU for both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process to ensure safe, effective care throughout the perioperative period.
• Conduct preoperative assessments to determine patient readiness for surgery and ensure necessary preparation.
• Monitor patients’ recovery from anesthesia, providing critical care until they meet discharge or transfer criteria.
• Implement physician orders, administer and document medications safely, and provide nursing interventions as necessary, in accordance with standards of practice
• Provide patient and family education regarding preoperative preparation, post-operative care and recovery instructions.
• Maintain proficiency in using medical equipment needed for preoperative and postoperative care.
• Participate in the admission and discharge process as needed, ensuring smooth transitions and proper documentation
• Participate in the rotational call system to support staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing appropriate interventions in line with hospital protocols.
