Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification within 90 days for ASC pediatrics.
• Minimum one year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.
• PRN: minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.
• New licensed RN enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with completion within 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and post-operative planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from patient/family and health team.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination and supervision of the health care team.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust the plan of care as needed in collaboration with the team.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record timely and accurately.
• Provide care based on best evidence and participate in facility leadership and education activities.
• Contribute to nursing quality and patient outcomes through participation in quality initiatives.
• In some locations, may provide relief charge for staff and workflow.
