Job summary

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for Outpatient Surgery. You’ll evaluate patients pre-op, educate families, prepare patients including IV therapy and medications, and participate in safety checklists and universal protocols.

The role requires at least 3 years perioperative experience (OPS/PACU, ICU, ED, TELE floor), ACLS and BLS within defined timeframes. Join a collaborative team with robust benefits and nursing initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Licensed RN with a valid state nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Manage patient monitoring and documentation during shift.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe nursing care.
