Bayhealth is offering a Perioperative Onboarding Program for nurses, using the AORN Perioperative 101 curriculum to equip new and transitioning RNs with the skills for surgical nursing. The program includes classroom instruction, labs, simulations, and precepted clinical experience, with sessions available January, June, and September.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support; Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of Delaware (or eligibility for DE licensure).
• Experience: New graduate nurses or RNs transitioning into perioperative nursing are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

• Demonstrate commitment to professional growth by applying new skills in real-time clinical settings.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to provide excellent patient outcomes.
• Assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care, ensuring best practices in surgical nursing.
• Participate in hands-on learning with experienced perioperative nurses in the operating room.
• Engage in a structured training program covering perioperative principles, sterile technique, patient safety, and surgical procedures.
