Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse to collaborate with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team. You will ensure equipment and supplies are ready, mentor staff, and coordinate care from pre-op through recovery, while supporting AORN guidelines and unit initiatives.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas, 4 years RN OR experience, BLS certification, and CNOR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
• Current Texas RN license (unencumbered).
• CNOR - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with surgeons and schedulers to plan patient care needs for procedures.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are available and functioning before procedures.
• Trains and mentors staff for the service and organizes in-service for new equipment or supplies.
• Maintains surgeon preference cards and protocols for the service.
• Provides information to managers on new supply and equipment needs and participates in performance improvement projects.
• Applies effective verbal and non-verbal communication in all interactions.
• Manages resources with awareness of budget implications and efficiency.
