Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking an Operating Room and Outpatient Surgery Center Registered Nurse to provide safe, compassionate perioperative care. You will work as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, prepare patients for surgery, and ensure a sterile environment while coordinating with the surgical team.

You will document care, educate patients and families, support efficient patient flow, and participate in safety initiatives, time-outs, and post-operative discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and perioperative nursing experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and compassion.
• Experience with patient education and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
• Prepare patients for surgery and educate them on procedures.
• Serve as circulating and/or scrub nurse.
• Maintain sterile environment and follow infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and care teams.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Support patient flow in OR and outpatient center.
• Participate in safety initiatives and time-outs.
