Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Cape Girardeau, MO. This PRN position supports general surgery cases and OR staffing with 8-hour daytime shifts and potential call hours.

The role involves applying the nursing process, coordinating care with preop and surgical teams, and ensuring patient rights and documentation accuracy. Periop training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN OR experience in the OR preferred.
• Current RN license in hire state and/or compact licensure.
• BLS certification; ACLS/NRP/ENPC as required. Other certs may be needed.
• Position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in the OR.
• Coordinates patient care with preop, anesthesia, surgeons and recovery staff.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality; documents patient records.
