Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This PRN role supports general surgery, DaVinci Xis, urology, plastics, gyn, orthopedic, neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Periop 101 through AORN is offered for new RN candidates across the OR team.

Opportunities exist to cross-train toward scrub or First Assist within cases. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, maintaining patient confidentiality, and coordinating care

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year of RN OR experience preferred.
• Required Education: Graduate from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• L icensure: Maintain current RN license in the hiring state and meet state board requirements.
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC/CPHON/OCN/BLS/PALS/PEARS/STABLE/C-EFM may be required.
• Other: Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, standing/walking, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for care of assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Cross-train and/or advance to scrub or First Assist in cases as needed.
