Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan.
Ability to provide nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Strong communication and teamwork with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
ADN graduates should enroll in a BSN within three years and complete BSN within five years of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
Lead coordination and delivery of compassionate, quality patient care using the nursing process.
Educate patients and families about the surgical process and recovery expectations.
Perform preoperative assessments and verify consent and medications.
Support intraoperative activities including positioning and instrument handling.
Monitor patient responses and document in the EMR.
Facilitate communication between surgical teams, anesthesia, and recovery staff.
Assist with discharge planning and postoperative pain management.
Maintain safety standards and chart accurate patient information.
