Job summary

Gastro One in Mississippi is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse with perioperative experience to join our ambulatory surgery team. The RN will provide pre-operative and postoperative care for GI procedures, collaborate with the multidisciplinary staff, and monitor patient status throughout the care continuum.

This role requires current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience in pre-admissions, pre-op, PACU, or surgical setting preferred; willing to train motivated RNs.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and postoperative nursing care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a smooth and efficient patient care process.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, assess their condition, and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and procedures.
• Educate patients and their families on postoperative care and recovery.
