Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Minnesota is seeking a RNFA with operating room experience to support perioperative procedures. The role requires visualization of the operative site, hemostasis assistance, tissue closure, wound dressing selection, and drainage management.

Position includes ongoing development and support for the surgical team. Candidates should have an accredited RN program and RNFA training, with BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and accredited RNFA program.
• Operating room experience or training within the last three years preferred.
• Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies and procedural guidelines.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides visualization of the operative site.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques in closure of body planes.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
• Provides assistance in securing drainage system to tissue.
• Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion techniques as appropriate.
• Assists with positioning the patient.
• Prepares the skin for procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Maintains ongoing self-development.
• Other duties as assigned.
