Job summary

AdventHealth in Tavares, FL seeks an experienced perioperative nurse for day shift. You will manage OR traffic, support pre/post‑op assessments, and ensure patient safety and privacy. You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff and help orient new hires.

Responsibilities include monitoring labs and critical data, maintaining instruments and setups, and adhering to regulatory standards while providing compassionate care to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Perioperative nursing knowledge
• Proficiency in acute care nursing
• Experience with computerized documentation systems
• Clear English communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Strong communication and anticipatory skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Assures appropriate traffic control in the operating room.
• Initiates incident reporting when indicated; promotes interdepartmental relations.
• Assists with orientation of new employees and unit coverage as directed.
• Performs specialized nursing care in perioperative settings.
• Assesses pre- and post-operative patients and updates preference cards.
• Performs surgical counts and prepares OR setup.
• Recognizes abnormal data and emergency situations; responds appropriately.
• Maintains patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
