Job summary

WellStar Cobb Hospital is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Periop Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, individualized care. You will work in a dynamic perioperative setting, guided by WellStar practices and governance models, ensuring safety and excellence in patient outcomes.

The role requires perioperative experience, an active RN license (GA or compact), and a commitment to evidence-based nursing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years direct patient care nursing experience.
• Nursing degree: ADN/ Diploma or BSN preferred.
• RN license required: GA or multi-state (compact).
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) using evidence-based practice.
• Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting age, gender, disease, and culture.
• Partners with patients and families through bedside shift reports, rounds, and planned teaching.
• Practices according to current clinical standards and WellStar policies.
• Coordinates safe, quality care with interdisciplinary communication and documentation.
• Participates in performance improvement and shared governance activities.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor for staff and students to ensure workforce development.
