Job summary

San Benito Health Care District is seeking a Perioperative RN to provide circulating, scrubbing, and endoscopy coverage across the surgical continuum. You will assess patients before, during, and after procedures and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.

The role requires an active California RN license, BLS and ACLS, and at least one year of OR or acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum one year of Operating Room or acute care nursing experience.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document care.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical and endoscopic procedures.
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and following procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Prepare the surgical suite, equipment, instruments, and supplies for assigned procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique, surgical asepsis, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
• Perform and document surgical counts and ensure appropriate handling, labeling, and management of specimens.
• Administer medications and treatments safely within the RN scope of practice.
• Provide patient and family education and communicate appropriate handoff information throughout the surgical continuum.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
