FOX VALLEY ORTHOPEDICS in Geneva, Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time perioperative care role. Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with IL RN licensure. BLS/ACLS/PALS required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire. 1+ years perioperative, medical-surgical, or PACU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) required or acquired within 90 days of hire or transfer date.
• 1+ years perioperative, medical-surgical or PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient’s ongoing nursing care needs.
• Develops/reviews/revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient’s nursing care needs for optimum patient care outcome.
• Implements interventions consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Evaluates patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome.
• Maintains a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, interactions to achieve organization’s mission.
• Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees.
• Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Attend and participate in department meetings.
• Attend mandatory educational programs.
• Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
