Job summary

Surgical Care Affiliates, LLC is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing (PAT RN) to prepare patients for surgery. You will collect health histories, review medications, and collaborate with Anesthesia to determine suitability for surgery at the center.

The role requires 1 year of pre-op or related nursing experience, active RN licensure, and certifications (BLS/BCLS, ACLS; PALS if pediatric care is included). The position offers full-time hours in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• One year of pre-op, PACU or medical/surgical nursing experience is required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing in the applicable state.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment; ACLS within 90 days; PALS if pediatric care is part of the scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision and values of SCA Health.
• Describe pathophysiology of common disease processes encountered in perioperative care.
• Describe physiology related to anesthesia techniques and perioperative interventions.
• Develop individualized perianesthesia care plans and communicate status across the care continuum.
• Assist in screening, clearance, and admission decisions for scheduled procedures.
• Provide patient education on medications, pain, wound care and recovery expectations.
• Ensure safe medication administration and infection control practices.
• Serve as patient advocate and ensure privacy and safety throughout perioperative care.
• Perform hand-offs to team members with accurate and concise information.
