Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a perioperative clinical pharmacist to oversee medication management in perioperative services across OR satellites and PACU. You will ensure safe drug therapy, educate care teams, and maintain formulary and inventory controls.

The role requires a PharmD or BS with relevant experience, NC licensure, and ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, nurses, and learners.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with care teams and patients.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor patient medication therapy for safety and efficacy.
• Prepare, label, and dispense medications per physician prescriptions in compliance with laws.
• Stay informed on drugs used in perioperative care including anesthesia and analgesia.
• Ensure controlled substance compliance and proper records.
