Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a compassionate nurse to join the Pre and Post-Op team on the PCH-MAIN unit in Phoenix. This part-time role collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver evidence-based nursing care tailored to patients' ages and conditions, in alignment with hospital standards.

The position emphasizes ongoing assessment, family coordination, safety, and education, with a 6am-6:30pm shift pattern, Mon-Fri, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Strong patient- and family-centered care approach

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessment across age groups to establish baseline care plans
• Monitor patient responses and adjust plans; communicate progress to team and families
• Ensure medication safety, storage, and documentation compliance
• Provide unit orientation and educate patients/families on care processes
• Supervise care activities of assigned team members and provide feedback
• Collaborate with care team and families to refine the care plan and rounds participation
• Mentor students and new staff to promote best practices in patient-centered care
