Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking an OR Support Technician to assist the Clinical team in indirect patient care within the operating room environment in Camden, NJ. This role supports room turnover, equipment preparation, and orderly setup for surgeries.

The position requires attention to detail, ability to stand for long shifts, and NJ BLS certification. Evening shifts 2:30-11 PM with weekends and holidays rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support).
• Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and monitor use.

Responsibilities

• Room turnover: remove trash, clean OR areas, prep table, and mop floor.
• Gather equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases.
• Change OR tables when necessary and set up OR for next case.
• Transport specimens to the lab and return to CSP as needed.
• Stand on feet throughout shift; require comfortable footwear.

Short Description

Assists the Clinical team in providing indirect patient care, plus has nonpatient care responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Room turnover: includes taking out the trash, cleaning all areas of the OR, including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
• Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
• Changing OR tables when necessary
• Room set up: setting up the entire OR room for the next case or first case of the day; this includes making the bed, having necessary equipment in the room positioned appropriately for the case
• Taking specimens to the lab
• Take returns to CSP and put returns away that live in the OR upstairs.
• PCT will be on your feet, the entire shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed

Experience Required

• Acute Care Hospital experience preferred (i.e.: Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS, etc.)
• Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

License/Certification Requirements

• Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
