Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health seeks a PCT to assist the Clinical team with indirect patient care and nonpatient tasks. Responsibilities include room turnover, equipment gathering, and preparing the OR for cases, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness throughout shifts.

The role requires an acute care background, ability to move around the OR all day, and current NJ-BLS certification. Weekend and holiday rotations are expected.

Qualifications

• Acute care hospital experience preferred (e.g., Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS).
• Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Room turnover: remove trash, clean OR areas, reset table and floor.
• Gather equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases.
• Change OR tables when necessary.
• Room setup for next case or first case of the day, including bedding and equipment placement.
• Take specimens to the lab and handle returns to CSP from OR upstairs.

Short Description

Assists the Clinical team in providing indirect patient care, plus has nonpatient care responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Room turnover: includes taking out the trash, cleaning all areas of the OR, including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
• Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
• Changing OR tables when necessary
• Room set up: setting up the entire OR room for the next case or first case of the day; this includes making the bed, having necessary equipment in the room positioned appropriately for the case
• Taking specimens to the lab
• Take returns to CSP and put returns away that live in the OR upstairs.
• PCT will be on your feet, the entire shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed
