Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Healthcare Tech at Olathe Hospital to support perioperative and procedural services. This role performs basic nursing tasks under RN supervision, including vital signs, patient transport, specimen collection and ED/ICU appropriate safety practices.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and some experience as a transporter, orderly, or nursing assistant; BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing skills including, but not limited to: ADLs
• Finger stick blood glucose
• 12 Lead EKG
• Recording intake and output
• Collecting urine, stool, sputum specimens
• Apply/remove compression hose; SCD, etc.
• Emptying drains, urinary catheters, NG tubes, and ostomies
• Bladder Scanning
• Obtains height and weight
• Patient transport
• Room turnover and stocking
• Patient monitoring device placement
