Job summary

Dunes Surgical Hospital in South Dakota is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, coordinate, and deliver care in PACU, Pre-op, and Step-Down areas. You will follow nursing standards and physician orders, document care, and communicate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college or university.
• Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure.
• Work experience as a professional nurse.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Ability to demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and oversees perioperative nursing care for patients in PACU, Pre-op and Step-Down.
• Acts according to nursing standards and physician orders; communicates with team.
• Follows policies and contributes to quality improvement activities.
• Documents care accurately; follows up on missing data and patient needs.
• Maintains skills in IV therapy, medications, patient assessment, and airway management.
• Provides comprehensive nursing assessment and plans patient-centered care.
• Advocates for the best interest of the patient and collaborates with providers.
• Maintains professionalism during stressful situations and crisis.
• Participates in committees and ongoing professional development.
• Follows OSHA and HIPAA standards and protects patient information.
• Uses proper body mechanics and ensures safe patient handling.
• Notifies management of day-to-day situations as needed.
• Adheres to staff and employee health policies.
• Contributes to documentation and continuity of care across settings.
• Performs other duties as designated by management.
