Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital, part of Brown University Health, seeks a perioperative nursing leader to ensure resources and staff are available to deliver high-quality patient care in the operating room. You will coordinate surgeon availability, patient acuity, and the daily schedule in collaboration with Surgical Services Managers and Service Line Coordinators.

You will provide clinical guidance, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory standards, while maintaining patient privacy

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island RN licensure in good standing.
• Completion of formal education in an accredited school of nursing.
• Leadership and supervisory ability to direct activities of staff.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse teams.
• Experience in operating room nursing and perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgeon availability and patient acuity within perioperative areas.
• Provide planning methods to achieve area goals and promote the organization’s mission and values.
• Manage resources (staff and equipment) efficiently and fiscally.
• Offer clinical guidance and act as a resource using current guidelines and policies.
• Escalate physician issues when conflict resolution is needed and coordinate with stakeholders.
