Job summary

Palmetto General Hospital in Florida is seeking a skilled perioperative RN to provide professional surgical nursing care for pediatric (>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, prepare equipment, assist physicians during procedures, take emergency call as assigned, and work shifts as needed to maintain patient safety and comfort. Excellent communication and critical thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the NCSBN.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card
• Perioperative experience preferred
• Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Positive affect, demonstrated leadership and time management skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
• Visual and hearing senses adequate to assess changes in physiology
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced and stressful environment
• Current Florida RN License

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care across pediatric (>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide age-appropriate care.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during procedures.
• Take emergency call as assigned by department head.
• Work assigned shifts and may work beyond regular hours as required.
