Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing program as defined by NCSBN.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
• One-year perioperative experience preferred.
• Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Positive affect with leadership and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication in English.
• Adequate visual and hearing senses to assess changes.

Responsibilities

• Delivers perioperative nursing care to pediatric (>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide age-appropriate care.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during surgical procedures.
• Assists with the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Takes emergency call as assigned; may work beyond regular tours.
