Job summary

Ouzinkie Native Corporation in Colorado Springs seeks an experienced perioperative nurse to direct and instruct staff in preparing, sterilizing, and caring for operating room equipment and supplies. You will coordinate with the surgical team, ensure safety standards are met, and maintain accurate documentation of patient care events.

The role requires a current RN license, BLS/ALS/PALS certifications, and OR experience across elective, urgent, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program.
• Active, current RN license without limitations.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications maintained in good standing.
• Minimum 12 months operating room experience, including sterilization.
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Must meet health screening and immunization requirements.
• Security access and background checks completed as required.
• All credentialing documents provided to Katmai’s Credentialing Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Direct and instruct personnel in preparing, sterilizing, and caring for operating room equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to establish priorities of care for each patient.
• Maintain complete records and documentation of patient care events and improvements.
• Respond to surgical emergencies and provide perioperative nursing care across ages.
• Adhere to perioperative, infection control and safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in orientation, training, and evaluation of new staff and quality initiatives.
