Job summary

Bolivar Medical Center, part of the ScionHealth network in Cleveland, MS, is seeking a Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) for a full-time position. The RN-Surgery will provide direct perioperative nursing care across age groups in a high-stress acute care setting, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and education throughout the perioperative process.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in Mississippi, with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as required, and

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice is required.
• BLS certification is required within facility policy time frame.
• ACLS certification is required within facility policy time frame.
• PALS certification is required within facility policy time frame.
• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred.
• BSN is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-centered nursing care based on standards and nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and policy-compliant.
• Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, patient, and family.
• Coordinates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams for optimal care.
• Participates in patient transfer, discharge, and referrals as needed.
• Educates patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-op care.
• Advocates for patient safety and well-being throughout the surgical experience.
