Summary/Objective

The Perioperative RN ensures patient safety during surgery by providing care before, during, and after procedures. This role involves maintaining a sterile environment, assisting surgeons, positioning patients, sterilizing wounds, and monitoring vital signs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care according to facility policies.
• Assess patient conditions prior to surgery.
• Administer prescribed preoperative medications.
• Monitor patients during surgery.
• Maintain aseptic technique.
• Manage surgical equipment and supplies.
• Complete intraoperative and postoperative documentation.
• Monitor physiologic status in recovery.
• Make sound decisions in emergencies.
• Collaborate with the surgical team on patient care.
• Accurately document data in NexTech (EHR system).
• Work effectively as part of the team and embody the organization's culture.
• Travel to multiple locations if required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of OR experience in an ASC or office-based surgery center preferred.
• 1 year of preoperative, circulating, and PACU experience preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills fostering collaboration and respect.
• Flexible schedule, with operating days starting as early as 6 AM.
