Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a dedicated registered nurse to manage care for assigned patients, conducting assessments, planning interventions, and guiding a care team. Active NY RN licensure, BLS/BCLS certification, and collaboration with the nursing leadership are required; CNOR is highly preferred, with BSN encouraged for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program if approved by Chief Nursing Officer or designee
• Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned; Circulating experience in OR or multi-disciplinary center, or Periop 101 program preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current NY State registration
• BLS / BCLS certification required
• CNOR highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts Nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation and review of records of the patient
• Ensures that the patients progress, or lack of progress, is reflected in progress notes and in the revised care plans
• Discharge planning consistent with the patient's status and inter-departmental communication
• Communicates information to the patient based on the patient's level of awareness and readiness to learn
• Supports orientation of new staff by observing professional behaviors and acting as a preceptor
