Job summary

Crouse Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Clinical Educator for the Surgical Suite / OR to provide training, guidance and support to staff. The role focuses on optimizing perioperative patient care and education within the Witting Surgical Center, with availability of Full-Time day shifts.

The position requires NYS RN licensure, BSN or current BSN program enrollment, and CNOR certification or commitment to obtain it; two years of OR nursing experience and prior clinical education experience are

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or active BSN program with end-date.
• Specialty certification or commitment to obtaining CNOR.
• Two years of operating room nursing experience required.
• Two years’ experience as a clinical educator preferred.
• BLS certification required at hire or within two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates department orientation for new employees and in-service education.
• Promotes role competence, learning and change within the team.
• Collaborates with leadership to improve daily department efficiency.
• Acts as consultant and identifies educational resources and options.
• Participates in evidence-based research to improve outcomes.
