Job summary

The Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Perioperative Department, is seeking a Clerk III to perform coordinate clerical work and supervise clerical tasks as needed. The role involves examining documents, handling data entry, and assisting patients and staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

This is a part-time, on-site position located in Iowa City with a 3- or 4-hour daily schedule and regular hours. Successful candidates will have equivalent clerical experience and the ability to follow

Qualifications

• Combination of clerical office experience or related education equivalent to two years full-time employment.
• Involves examining, verifying documents and handling standard forms.

Responsibilities

• Examines, checks, and verifies documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews inquiries and provides information on policies and procedures.
• Assigns and coordinates work of other clerical personnel.
• Composes correspondence to inquiries without instruction.
• Processes standard forms and codes data.
• Gathers and posts information following guidelines.
• Greets and assists the public, patients, students, faculty, and staff.
