Job summary

The CORE Institute is seeking an experienced perioperative registered nurse to ensure safe patient care in the peri‑op unit and to support the surgical team. This role includes maintaining sterile fields, assisting in instrument management, and helping with room turnover to optimize utilization.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in Nursing with 3 years in an acute OR setting, and prefer 12 months in Orthopedic perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe patient care in the peri-op unit and verify patient identification, time outs, and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field and assist in OR with scrub and physician.
• Support staff development through mentoring and precepting.
• Keep surgical area clean and organized; handle instruments and sponges.
• Assist in room turnover and ensure sterile, safe environment for patients.
• Monitor environment and inventory, procuring supplies when needed.
• Prepare patients for procedures and participate in handoffs.
• Contribute to OR metrics and process improvement initiatives.
• Assess patient condition pre-procedure and collaborate on care plans.
• Accept additional related responsibilities as required.
