Emory Healthcare in Decatur, GA is seeking a Perioperative Services Tech to support the surgical team in the operating room and perioperative areas. You will assist with patient care, prepare the environment, and ensure safe, efficient procedures.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, you will stock supplies, maintain aseptic technique, and help with room setup and cleaning while following infection control guidelines.

Job Summary: The Perioperative Services Tech supports the surgical team by performing a variety of duties related to patient care, environmental maintenance, and supply handling in the operating room and perioperative areas. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, this position plays a key role in preparing the surgical environment and ensuring safe, efficient care for patients undergoing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education - High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience - Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the work day (occasionally) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
