Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in the operating room with patient care, including positioning and transferring anesthetized patients.
• Promotes a positive patient experience by partnering with the surgical team to ensure excellent service and age-appropriate care.
• Assists with transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
• Ensures availability of instruments and supplies and assists with opening of supplies and instruments.
• Provides emotional support during pre-operative contact with the patient as directed by nurses.
• Performs cleaning and disinfection of the operating rooms after surgical cases.
• Performs appropriate handling of patient specimens.
