Job summary

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking an Assistant Patient Care Coordinator to manage the assigned Nursing Unit in collaboration with physician leadership. The role includes shift assignments, admissions, transfers and discharges, and acting as a clinical resource to the unit.

You will provide professional nursing care, assess and document care using the nursing process, and support the team while upholding the hospital's standards and mission. NY RN license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Three to five years of perioperative nursing care and progressive leadership experiences.
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families.
• Formulates nursing diagnoses for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care.
• Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel.
• Makes shift assignments and facilitates admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Acts as a clinical resource for the unit.
