Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, seeks a Non-Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) at Overton Brooks VAMC. The ANM supports the Nurse Manager in planning, coordinating and evaluating comprehensive perioperative nursing care for Veterans.

Responsibilities include supervising RNs, LPNs, Surgical Techs and nursing assistants; coordinating staffing; promoting safety, evidence-based care, and collaboration across disciplines; and assisting with recruitment and

Qualifications

English language proficiency required by VA.
Graduate of a nursing program approved by accrediting bodies (ACEN/CCNE).
Current, full, active RN license in the United States or District of Columbia.
Licensure path via bridge programs or GNT exceptions as applicable.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and supervision in Operating Room, PACU and SDS units.
Coordinate staffing based on patient acuity and operational needs.
Promote safe, evidence-based, Veteran-centered nursing care.
Mentor staff, conduct orientation and performance evaluations.
Assist with recruitment, retention and performance management.
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, VA policies and safety requirements.
Support patient flow, admissions, transfers and discharges.
