Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to provide perioperative anesthesia management within a level-one academic trauma center. The AA works under supervision to perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative evaluations and operates anesthesia equipment, ensuring patient safety and documentation.

A strong teaching and professional approach is required. This full-time role offers a 40-hour week with a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Evidenced successful completion of Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by NCCAA.
• Current licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of South Carolina.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative management of patients where anesthesia services are indicated.
• Pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative evaluation of patients requiring anesthesia.
• Operate anesthesia machines and related equipment; assist in patient transport and record-keeping.
• Participate in teaching activities and uphold standards of practice under supervision.
