Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center offers a perioperative nursing internship to prepare RNs for entry-level intraoperative care. The program combines online modules with a preceptored clinical experience and includes rotations across ENT/Dental, Plastics, General, GYN, GU, DaVinci Robotics, CVT, Ortho, and Neuro. Start date is January 18, 2027.

New grads must have passed the NCLEX-RN before the start. This is a full-time position with orientation, followed by a buddy-call component requiring

Qualifications

• State of Vermont RN license required or compact licensure recognized, or a graduate nurse license-eligible.
• NCLEX-RN must be passed prior to start for new grads.

Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room supporting intraoperative care.
• Complete AORN Periop 101 training and certification.
• Rotations through ENT, Plastics, General, GYN, GU, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro.
• Orientation includes Periop 101 Test at week 21.
• Buddy call starts at week 23; proximity to UVMMC needed during on-call.
