Job summary

QUEENS DENTAL in New York, NY seeks a dedicated Periodontist to join our team. This part-time role (2 days a week: Mondays and Fridays) offers benefits eligibility and avoids weekends and overnights, serving our Union members with top-notch periodontal care.

You will assess patients, plan treatments, educate on oral health, perform procedures like bone grafts and extractions, provide emergency care, and document chart information. Requires NY license and specialty certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed dentist in NY with periodontics specialty certification.
• Current BCLS, DEA and infection control certifications.
• Meets all clinical staff appointment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients to determine dental care needs.
• Develops a dental treatment plan for patients.
• Educates patients on preventive and planned care.
• Performs surgical procedures such as bone grafts, flap surgery, and tooth extractions.
• Makes referrals as indicated by patient needs.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as necessary.
• Documents complete information on dental charts.

Salary Range: $130.00 To $135.00 Hourly

* Please note this role is Part-Time, but also benefits eligible - the ideal candidate would be able to work 2 days a week (Mondays and Fridays) out of our Queens Dental Center*

Our organization operates several multi-disciplinary ambulatory care centers throughout New York City that were created to serve our Union members and their families. We offer Primary Care, Dental, Radiological, Vision, Mental Health, and other Specialist services at our facilities at no charge to our Union members, removing the financial roadblock that many people face when trying to obtain quality medical care. We are looking for a Periodontist to help in our mission of providing top notch dental services to our Union members. It's an exciting opportunity for any Periodontist looking to make an impact for under-represented communities and want a stable work schedule (No weekends and no overnights!).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses the patients to determine dental care needs.
• Develops a dental treatment plan for patient.
• Educates patients regarding preventive care, planned care and treatment and follow-up care; also provides general health education as it relates to dental care.
• Performs surgical procedures such as bone grafts, flag surgery, and tooth extractions
• Makes referrals, as indicated by the assessed needs of the patients.
• Provides emergency care and treatment, as necessary.
• Documents complete information on dental charts.

Education and Experience:

• Current license as a Dentist in New York State.
• Specialty Certificate.
• Current BCLS certification
• DEA Certificate
• Infection Control certification.
• Opioid Certificate
• Meets all requirements for appointment/reappointment as a member of the clinical staff.
