Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer to conduct high‑risk obstetric ultrasounds, including first trimester, anatomy scanning, transvaginal exams, Doppler studies, and BPP, in collaboration with on‑site perinatologists.

You will independently perform prescribed procedures, ensure high-quality images, and prepare findings for timely physician interpretation, while maintaining equipment and supporting staff.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree required.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Experience in Level II OB Ultrasound and imaging-guided procedures.
• RDMS OB/GYN certification and Ultrasound Technician (UT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs prescribed procedures per department policies.
• Obtains diagnostic sonographic images and documents for physician interpretation.
• Maintains and reports on sonography equipment and reports failures.
• Assists administrative, medical, and technical staff as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Perinatal Sonographer, you will utilize high frequency sound waves along with color and spectral Doppler ultrasound to assist in the monitoring and growth during pregnancy, and assists in ultrasound guided fetal procedures. Reviews and prepares study results for physician interpretation.

Everyday, you will perform maternal fetal medicine high-risk obstetric ultrasounds working with on-site perinatologists to include: first trimester ultrasounds, detailed anatomy level one and level two ultrasounds in the second and third trimester, transvaginal ultrasounds, maternal and fetal doppler studies, and BPP.

To be successful in this role, you must use independent judgment and apply learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures, and produce high quality images and prepares and presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.

• Independently performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols to patients.
• Obtains diagnostic sonographic images by scanning the appropriate body part of the patient with the transducer; provides documentation of ultrasound exam sufficient for physicians to interpret.
• Care properly for sonography equipment and report equipment failure
• Provides assistance to administrative, medical, and technical staff when necessary.
